ALAHJI DÁQUAN

Alahji DáQuan is an award-winning recording artist, fashion visionary, model, creative director, and entrepreneur whose work has become synonymous with innovation, resilience, and cultural impact throughout the Northeastern Pennsylvania fashion and entertainment scene. Born and raised in New York City, Alahji developed a passion for music, fashion, and performance at an early age. As the son of a DJ, he grew up surrounded by sound, rhythm, stage presence, and creative expression, influences that would later shape his artistic identity and dynamic approach to entertainment.
Before becoming recognized as a recording artist and fashion producer, Alahji first entered the entertainment world as a child print model between 1998 and 2001. Even at a young age, he displayed confidence in front of the camera and a natural understanding of style and visual storytelling. After taking a hiatus from modeling, he continued nurturing his creativity through music and writing. From 2005, he sang in the Union Baptist Church Gospel Chorus, strengthening his vocal ability and performance discipline. Between 2008 and 2016, he quietly built a reputation as a poetry and song ghostwriter for numerous local up and coming R&B artists in, helping shape records behind the scenes while refining his own melodic writing style.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Alahji made the decision to fully invest in his own artistry. What began as private songwriting and experimentation evolved into a focused mission to create music that blended fashion, nightlife culture, vulnerability, empowerment, and high-energy performance into one unique experience. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson, Luther Vandross, Maxwell, Jay-Z, Notorious B.I.G, Eve, Lil’ Kim, and Nicki Minaj, Alahji cultivated a sound that merges melodic R&B textures, hip-hop confidence, ballroom energy, and theatrical stage production.
As an artist, Alahji DáQuan is widely recognized for his commanding stage presence, energetic choreography, and immersive live performances featuring dancers, storytelling, and couture-inspired visuals. His performances often blur the line between concert and runway presentation, creating a signature style that has helped him stand out in independent entertainment circles. He has performed at numerous showcases and festivals, including appearances connected to New York Fashion Week, Brooklyn Pride celebrations, ATMOSFERE Music Festival, and multiple large-scale fashion and entertainment productions throughout Pennsylvania and New York.
In February 2025, Alahji released his debut EP, Metamorphosis, a seven-track project praised for its smooth melodic tone, emotional honesty, and fashionable aesthetic. The project included standout records such as Sweet Love (Vibe Wit’ Me), CELEBRATE, Fashion Killa, and Forever I Thrive. The lead single, “Sweet Love (Vibe Wit’ Me),” became especially notable for its themes of trust, loyalty, intimacy, and emotional connection, with lyrics encouraging honesty and genuine partnership. The record received radio support from regional stations including 107.5 The Diamond in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton market.
Through his music catalog and growing fanbase, Alahji has accumulated over 100,000 streams across multiple platforms and continues expanding his audience independently. His evolving sound now explores hip-house, dance, electronic, ballroom, and experimental pop influences, particularly through his upcoming project Midnight Circuit, which embraces nightlife culture, fashion fantasy, movement, and liberation. He is also preparing for the future release of his album Scorpion and a deeply personal body of work titled Purple Reflection, which is expected to chronicle pain, growth, vulnerability, and transformation.
Beyond music, Alahji DáQuan has built an influential name in fashion and event production. As the Founder of NEPA Fashion Week, he has become one of the leading figures bringing high-fashion experiences to underserved communities throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania. With roots in both New York and Pennsylvania fashion culture, Alahji envisioned NEPA Fashion Week as more than a runway event. Under his leadership, the platform has evolved into a celebration of diversity, creativity, body positivity, performing arts, entrepreneurship, and community empowerment.
Since its launch, NEPA Fashion Week has featured designers, models, musicians, dancers, visual artists, and entrepreneurs from multiple regions while spotlighting overlooked talent throughout the area. Alahji’s ability to combine runway production with entertainment has helped establish the event as one of the most talked-about independent fashion experiences in the region. He has continuously emphasized inclusivity, especially for plus-size and full-figured models, giving many individuals opportunities that traditional fashion spaces often denied them.
As a model himself, Alahji is known for embracing fashion fearlessly. Standing at six feet tall with a commanding runway presence, he has walked in numerous productions while challenging outdated standards surrounding male body image in fashion. He frequently appears in avant-garde couture, dramatic red carpet looks, luxury-inspired editorial styling, and performance fashion pieces that reflect both confidence and individuality. His work with brands and productions has included collaborations tied to Jack Daniels, Bella & Co Beauty, and various independent designers and beauty campaigns.
Alahji is also the creative force behind Lavish by Lah, his styling and fashion brand focused on elevated fashion presentation, luxury aesthetics, and celebrity-inspired styling. Through Lavish by Lah, he has styled photoshoots, public appearances, fashion productions, and entertainment personalities while further expanding his influence within the fashion industry.
Throughout his career, Alahji DáQuan has received significant recognition for his contributions to music, fashion, and culture. He is an award-winning model and recording artist who holds the distinction of winning more InnaStar Trailblazer Awards than any male recipient in history, while sharing the overall record with Barbie Coloń and Tilesha Smith-Russell. He has also earned multiple honors for his modeling achievements and entertainment work, including recognition connected to regional fashion organizations and independent entertainment platforms. In 2025, he won Best Hip-Hop/R&B/Rap Artist of the Year at the Steamtown Music Awards while also receiving nominations for Best New Artist and Live Performer of the Year.
In addition to his entertainment accomplishments, Alahji remains deeply committed to community involvement, mentorship, and creating opportunities for others.
